No - I can reproduce this with both experimental cairo (1.8.6-1) and
libx11-6 (2:1.1.99.2-1).

It seems this can sometimes be tricky to reproduce. When running in a
debugger, sometimes I find opening the file from the menu rather than on
the command line can be easier. It's a bit unusual.
