Nothing unusual - mkfs.xfs or mkfs.reiserfs, default settings.
Anyway, according to /proc/mdstat, the block count is too low to be 5TB.

Why not? I've got similar server (runned a year ago) with raid6, 6 SATA driver
1TB each, using xfs filesystem.
cat /proc/mdstat
Personalities : [raid6] [raid5] [raid4]
md0 : active raid6 sda1[0] sdf1[5] sde1[4] sdd1[3] sdc1[2] sdb1[1]
      3907039232 blocks level 6, 1024k chunk, algorithm 2 [6/6] [UUUUUU]

/dev/mapper/archive 3.7T 2.4T 1.3T 65% /home/ftp [XFS]
