Hi, since .config is a file in the present case, and not a directory, it causes different troubles as mentionned above. I then suggest that: * check the type of files with a `test`-like function: regular files, symlinks, directory... * be more explicit in the second message. Example: tell the (full) location of the target file, which could help finding out the problem. And indicate the error number/description could help too (then no more use playing with strace ;-)).
