Package: ftgl-dev
Version: 2.1.2-1
Severity: wishlist

It looks like several packages with shared libraries need to use
libftgl (gem, which triggered the need for -fPIC build, and tulip,
which currently uses a copy of the source). Given the size of the
lib, it may make sense to provide a shared version of it.

Further more, the current practice, of using a PIC static lib, is
suboptimal for those packages willing to use the static version (PIC
is slower).
