Another pretty annoying aspect of this is that you end up with a Letter document and no amount of fiddling with CUPS and or application print dialog will then prevent the printer from stalling due to "Print as A4?" display prompt after having printed the document... Especially nice if the printer sits on a different floor or a very different office and you end up having to wait there in person for the entire document to finish printing... (this behaviour happens to nicely merge with the never-ending stream of CUPS printing issues) This bug report should be more like "WTF, OOo does NOT obey libpapersize!?". That's at least what my reaction was. Using OOo 1:2.4.1-11ubuntu2.1 on u8.10 here.
