Christian, I've prepared packages including the hints from sean (using the dbc template mechanism and including the explicit mysql version of the dbc maintainer scripts). Could you please test the packages from [1] and let us know, if they work better. If not, please also include the dbc.log that sean mentioned above (with dbc_debug=1 environement variable set).
