Ok, the bug is reproducible, I've analyzed the corefile and the segfault happens because mutt is not aware that the IMAP server closed the connection when it fails to allocate memory. I've done an initial analysis of the problem on the ticket on bugs.mutt.org, have a look at the forwarded URL for more info. If a patch won't be done by them I will dig deeper and write a patch.
