I'm afraid it's too late in the release cycle for changes of that
magnitude to make it into lenny.  I'll package a newer upstream release
once lenny has released at the least.  I may have a chance to get a newer
version into unstable before that, but I'm not sure at the moment.

To say this explicitly, the target in general for the OpenAFS packages in
Debian is to keep them working with the current kernel in Debian.  If one
builds one's own kernel, one may have to also build the module from
source; due to release freezes and just the pace of development, I often
can't keep up with upstream kernel releases.  It's been challenging even
to keep up with Debian kernel releases.
