severity 432584 important
thanks

I believe this is an important bug, since it implies two major drawbacks to the user:

(1) The UI does not provide an option to specify the SMTP port which is to be used. It can be set via 'smtp.xxx.yyy:port', sure, but this isn't documented anyhere! I think there should be either (a) a field next to the server adress where you can specify the port -- and which is defaulted to 25 -- or there should be (b) an example or some other kind of hint that explains to me what I am supposed to type into the address field.

A nice example for this "hint" is in the cookies dialog of current epiphany-browser where it tells me what "only from sites you visit" means. A small text line telling me "To specify a different port than 25 for SMTP, please use the following syntax: smtp.mailserver.com:port" or similar would help a lot!

(2) Once I've got this far and found out how to specify the SMTP port, Evolution omits it and still sends over port 25 if it is available. WTF?! I mean, my service provider begs me to use a different port than 25, I manage to change the port and finally Evolution decides to use the default port, because it is still available. What does Evolution think it is to override my settings? FAIL! ;)

Please change the order to first use the port I specified and then fall back to the default port 25 only if it failed.

Cheers,
Fabian
