Hello everybody, as a follow up, I made an evil workaround for the issues, please see: http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/sane-devel/2009-January/023782.html I don't think convert was the problem it just received an unwanted SIGHUP (Hangup) when doing its work :-( Bastien thank you for the quick responses, this is really appreciated, keep up the good work.
