Dear Matthais,

Several months ago I emailed you about the status of abs-guide in
Debian, because it hasn't been updated since 2006. As I said then, I
am perfectly willing to help out with the maintenance of abs-guide if
you want a co-maintainer.

Last August, I also contacted upstream in the hope of resolving Bug
453596 (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=453596). They
were very helpful then, although unfortunately no new upload has been
made to take advantage of the ability to now use a working watch file.

I am contacting you again because upstream has been kind enough to
email me that they have changed the URLs again due to a new hosting
scenario. They have also just released version 5.6. I have forwarded
the body of the upstream email at the end of this email. It would be
nice to get this newer version into Debian (also resolving the only
other bug open against abs-guide at the moment) and to allow a working
watch file for DEHS integration.

Have a nice day,
Daniel

Daniel,

Last August you e-mailed me about URL links to the Advanced Bash
Scripting Guide.
Well, I've changed ISPs and lost the server space at
personal.riverusers.com, so the links
have changed.

New URLS:

http://bash.neuralshortcircuit.com/abs-guide-latest.tar.bz2
(a link to latest tarball version)

http://bash.neuralshortcircuit.com/abs-guide-5.6.tar.bz2
(filename of latest tarball)

http://bash.neuralshortcircuit.com/abs-guide.pdf
(pdf version)
