Hi Eckhart, you are right, for creating ad-hoc networks you need dnsmasq-base installed. I'm a bit uncertain though to make dnsmasq-base a hard dependency, as most users will probably never create an ad-hoc network, thus if it would be better to make dnsmasq-base a Recommends, to leave the choice to the user (just as policykit and avahi-autoipd are currently suggests and recommends). What would you prefer? FWIW, I downgraded to important, as I think that the package works just fine for the vast majority of users without problems).
