I installed this package but did not have pidgin installed. Hence,
I could not use the package until I installed pidgin. This should
have been taken care of in the dependencies.

This plugin is for both Pidgin and libpurple messengers (such as
finch, adium, etc).

Ah -- I was not aware of that. Now I understand the lack of
dependencies.

I could probably add pidgin to Suggests. However there may be people
who use finch, who also use this package, who do not want pidgin and
bits of GTK and GNOME pulled in.

What do you think could be done?

Would it make any sense to have a pidgin-facebookchat package
that depends on pidgin, a finch-facebookchat package that depends
on finch, and so on? Or would that just add mindless clutter?
