There was one of the HP tools which downloaded and installed a plugin file, but I don't get hp-setup to do it again. It might be that the file is cached. I attached the current hp-check.log. Printing works fine, but scanning does not. hp-scan aborts with the following error: Using device hpaio:/usb/HP_Color_LaserJet_CM1015?serial=00CNF87BHGYB Opening connection to device... Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/hp-scan", line 788, in <module> sane.reportError(e) AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'reportError' xsane displays an error window after device scanning: "Failed to open device 'hpaio:/usb/HP_Color_LaserJet_CM1015?serial=00CNF87BHGYB': Error during device I/O. But I now found that the hp-toolbox has a point "install required plugin". But this seems to do nothing after asking for the root password. Sorry, I'm rather lost now. Thanks, Markus
