I've just found that message from December 2004 [1], and wrote to Sam asking about the current status. However, the low cost devices where it would be most useful (Welland ME-747GK) are not made by Coraid. Might also be a good idea to try working with LayerWalker, the makers of the chipset in these low cost devices.
