The wording in POSIX will change. See Enhancement Request Number 20 on http://www.opengroup.org/austin/aardvark/latest/xshbug3.txt Also, according to Geoff Clare, glibc seems to follow the C standard (at least in some cases), not the current wording in POSIX.
