Like I said, I personally found this hilarious but were someone to say
that they were offended by it I have to say that I could see where they
were coming from. I don't think it's an unreasonable response for
someone to have.

In an end user context I'm not sure it works so well for that: I would
imagine that most of the news style content is too detailed or technical
to be readily comprehensible to a wide audience.

Personally, I also find that many of the posts don't end up working
terribly well in the context of the screensavers since the screensavers
tend to work better with very short messages and pulling bits out of
postings without context frequently makes them hard to comprehend.

Sure, yes - or I can just give up in disgust and change my screensaver
to webcollage. However, I'm not sure the current default is suitable.
Any unedited content downloaded from the internet is going to have the
same risks.
