This bug has been archived, so I had to file a new bug and couldn't just
add more info to the 501773 bug.

Creating a file with .tmp extension, putting data into it, and then
renaming it to loose .tmp extension. It seems that it only happens when I
connect from Windows 2000 machine, I tried with simple script doing the
same and it works both with 3.0.11 and with 3.0.24. Howether original
program works reliably with 3.0.11 and randomly fails with 3.0.24-6etch10
(and in log I find previously mentioned lines)
