Sorry, I don't think that will happen in the next couple of years. The TeX Task Force has been short of manpower for the last two years, and not sitting idly waiting for work in the time before. We are not even using CVS any more. AFAIK none of the members uses CVS for their private work. Personally, I must admit that I don't care whether this bug still exists or not. If you do, I repeat my offer to give you write access to the cvs repository for tests - I think the bug report contains quite clear instructions what I did. If not, I also offer to help repeating the procedure.
