Package: usplash
Version: 0.5.19-3
Severity: normal

I can confirm this problem.

Usplash will work ONLY when all parameters to the kernel line are disabled -
means no vga=
line for me if I want usplash.

Does not appear to be video chip specific, since have the same problem on
another machine with
radeon chipset. (this one is a K8M800 chipset).

Likely a problem with something else, (but I cannot isolate the issue) since
splashy too will not
work on both the systems. (getting a splashy_start_splashy() error 3).
