> Does adding > Option "ButType" "PCI" > to the Device section of xorg.conf help? That option has no effects. After some more experimentation, however, I got the testing version of the server to work without acceleration [tried EXA in Device section before switching acceleration off (NoAccel in Screen section)]. > You might also want to try with xserver-xorg-core and > xserver-xorg-video-radeon from experimental in case they work better. I needed to install xserver-xorg-video-radeon/experimental, xserver-xorg/exp., xserver-xorg-core/exp, xserver-xorg-input-kbd/exp to make apt-get happy. In the config file I added radeon as driver instead of ati. A server with EXA acceleration would get to the login screen (kdm), but then no interaction (no mouse, no kbd) was possible (I also have a clock on the greeting which did not update). Without acceleration, the clock updates, but I still cannot get to the system via keyboard (this is worse than the current situation in testing). Currently, I am back to testing and 2.6.22.
