As you can tell from your output, gscan2pdf runs: scanimage --device-name='net:piii.acjlaw.net:avision:/dev/sg2' --mode='8-Bit Gray' --source='ADF' -y 279 -l 0 --resolution='300' -x 216 -t 0 --batch --progress --batch-count=1 Presumably, this doesn't work from the command line?
