Hi, thanks everyone for reporting and working on this bug.
Upstream has released a new version which addresses this and a slew of other issue. I was just about to push that new version into unstable when I realized that this bug would then go into the next stable release unfixed. I don't think that is desirable which is why I am currently preparing a separate 0.10-2 package for which I hope to get a freeze exception for testing.
The planned course of action is to push 0.11-1 into unstable only after 0.10-2 has hit testing. The WIP stuff can be gotten from http://mentors.debian.net and http://oss.leggewie.org/wip/pastebinit.debdiff. Monitor the progress at http://packages.debian.org/pastebinit
