Package: pilot-link
Version: 0.12.3-5

When I try to transfer a file to the SD card, I get a message telling me that there is not enough space, which is, of course, absurd. The transcript follows:

$ pilot-xfer -i pilot-0.12.3_patches.tar.gz -D /etc
   Listening for incoming connection on usb:... connected!

   Installing 'pilot-0.12.3_patches.tar.gz'...

   Insufficient space to install this file on your Palm.
   We needed 1073 and only had 3051094016 available..

   ERROR: pi_file_install_VFS failed.

   Thank you for using pilot-link.

There is a patch available at:
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=2016441&group_id=2158&atid=302158

I haven't tried it, but judging from the comments to this blog post, it works quite well:
http://dave.frop.net/my_palm_centro_and_linux

Basically, I'm wondering if there are any issues to do with that patch that makes it unsuitable for stable release.

Additionally, I get the following output when I ask about the card:

$ pilot-xfer -C
   Listening for incoming connection on usb:... connected!

Filesystem Size Used Free # Card name
VFAT on SD  904069120  -339738624  -1243807744  2  /

   Thank you for using pilot-link.

This is, of course, nonsense.

HW info,
Handheld: Palm Centro with Garnet v5.4.9, with a 4GB SD card
PC: kernel 2.6.18-6-686, Debian GNU/Linux Lenny (though the same problem occurs with Etch), and libc6 2.7-16
