Hi,

I have been using vnc4server on debian etch for years and it has been
mostly rock-solid. However, recently I have started hitting this bug
again and again (strace looks similar so I guess it is the same
bug). Logs show that Xvnc4 has been restarted now four times:

Tue Dec 2 23:52:23 2008
Sat Dec 6 16:18:42 2008
Sat Dec 13 00:55:19 2008
Tue Dec 16 03:13:00 2008

This computer is sharing ext2 /home via NFS but vnc4server is
accessing it locally so this should not matter. Also, I don't think I
have made any significant changes to the system recently:

2008-11-17 reboot to linux-image-2.6.18-6-k7 2.6.18.dfsg.1-23
2008-11-23 changed ip address of openvpn tunnel
2008-11-28 installed gimp-print

The machine has plenty of RAM

$ free
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 1036652 601088 435564 0 31920 287472
-/+ buffers/cache: 281696 754956
Swap: 0 0 0

and ulimit of the normal user should not be too restrictive
