Package: apt-proxy
Version: 1.9.35-0.3

I've had apt-proxy installed for about 5-6 months now without any
problem. Today, when I tried to synchronize my ubuntu workstation with
it, I experienced the same problem as mentioned above. It tries to
connect forever until ctrl+c'ed.

Running apt-get update with any of my debian etch machines went through
fine. I checked the packages that are failing to download from the
backend and found that only Packages.gz's that contain an Empty file
seem to be causing an issue.

For instance, here is one repo that currently causes the update to lock
up as of 2008-12-08 PST (marked as 2008-12-09 on the server).
