Hmm.  Just calling gv with that file causes it to sit there and display 
absolutely nothing.  ps x shows a zombie gs process.  Strangely, gv is not 
frozen - I can quit normally with 'q'.

Well, I could print the document just fine, or (as I mentioned) display it 
with gs alone - so, since I don't have the time to investigate much more, 
you may want to just close it. I can certainly provide some more basic info 
tomorrow if you tell me what - library versions etc., if oyu know some that 
may matter.  Most is from sarge, perhaps some very few things from 
unstable/experimental if they're KDE related.
