Well, I guess the severity is a moot point, since you've already fixed it. But since you have questioned my judgment, I will explain why I set the severity level to "serious" initially. You are of course entitled to disagree with me. I don't consider the contents of a config file as a "suggestion". Yes, /etc/TextConfig does need to be customized by the user to specify things like the chipset of the video card, horizontal and vertical sync frequency range limits for the monitor, etc. But the name and path to the font-setting program is not something one would normally need to tamper with. That is determined solely by whether kbd or console-tools is installed. Since the version in question is designed for use with Lenny, which has standardized on kbd, /etc/TextConfig should be pre-configured to work with kbd. Instead, it is "broken as installed". It won't even work with a straight VGA card. And I consider that to be "serious". Yes, the user can fix it himself -- if he knows what to do. But not all users will know what to do, at least not initially. I thought it should be fixed prior to Lenny becoming the stable release; so that users installing Lenny once it becomes the stable release will not have a "broken as installed" package to contend with. That means that "serious" was the lowest priority I could give it and meet that goal. I also don't understand the title change. Perhaps that is a more meaningful title to you, but it's not to me. Apparently, there must have been an article posted about this in NEWS.Debian, but I never saw it. I just upgraded to Lenny, carefully re-customized the config file with all my changes from the Etch version, and the thing didn't work. "Broken as installed" is a serious bug in my humble opinion, despite how easy it may be for a knowledgeable user to fix. Having said that, thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. I love this program! Long live svgatextmode! And for what it's worth, I agree with the Debian decision to switch from console-tools to kbd. I had all sorts of trouble with console-tools under Etch. In particular, it wouldn't handle non-standard boot-up text modes via the "vga=" kernel boot parameter (which is actually implemented by the boot loader). But kbd under Lenny handles this situation perfectly. Thanks again. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
