Package: hplip Version: 2.8.6.b-3 Severity: important I have installed a HP PSC 1510 all-in-one printer and added it to CUPS. I can print on it but can't scan from it. xsane and scanimage complain that no devices can be found, although sane-find-scanner outputs:
found USB scanner (vendor=0x03f0, product=0x4c11) at libusb:001:010 I installed these packages: cups hplip foomatic-db-engine foomatic-db-hpijs cups-bsd I scanned successfully from this printer in Jan/2008 and didn't use the printer at all until yesterday, Nov 24, 2008, when I reinstalled Debian altogether, so it seems that the bug crept into hplip *after* Jan/2008. I have googled extensively but the leads I followed didn't get me very far. I'm not sure what other info might be useful to further debug the problem, please let me know how I can help. Compile-time check mode (-c or --compile): Use this mode before compiling the HPLIP supplied tarball (.tar.gz or .run) to determine if the proper dependencies are installed to successfully compile HPLIP. 2. Run-time check mode (-r or --run): Use this mode to determine if a distro supplied package (.deb, .rpm, etc) or an already built HPLIP supplied tarball has the proper dependencies installed to successfully run. 3. Both compile- and run-time check mode (-b or --both) (Default): This mode will check both of the above cases (both compile- and run-time dependencies).
