In such cases, the very best way to deal with th bug is: - try to reproduce it with the version in unstable - if reproduced, either mention it here in Debian or, even better, report it upstream in https://bugzilla.samba.org Problems like this are very hard to investigate for the packaging team and narrowing the problem is often fairly difficult for the few of us....while it may be harder with the larger expertise of the Samba Team.
