If I recall correctly, svn doesn't ignores hidden files by default (nor vim's
temporary files).

Ansgar, Jan, what does this command return?

grep global-ignores ~/.subversion/config

If that has an ignore pattern that matches your ignored file then we found
the cause.


If that is NOT true, probably the issue is that some shell
command used is skipping hidden files by default (e.g.: grep does this).
Not sure which one would that be, 'though.
