LVM on Raid complicates things, sure. But for pure RAID systems, withouth LVM, as I currently use, the check would simply be: 1) Try to stop the md array (e.g. /dev/md0) 2.) If it is busy, check if /dev/md0 is mounted as / 3.) If so, suppress the warning. We maybe can't cover all cases, but as long as there are no false-positives, where warning messages are suppressed when they shouldn't, why not implement a "imperfect" solution?
