Hi everyone, ok now I've taken a look at the texlive-extra packages again. In short the bad thing is that texlive-latex-extra recommends a 76MiB -doc package which is nowdays installed by default.
I think we should at least recommend texlive-latex-extra and texlive-math-extra but I also think it's a bad idea to hit everyone with 76MiB of documentation. So the only sane way out seems to ask the texlive guys (I guess that's nowdays Norbert Preining) to move the -doc packages to Suggests first. Per: I'll let those two bugs seperated because LyX doesn't display a proper error message which should be solved.
