I appear to be able to reproduce this bug by simply trying to list the contents of the "print$" share, listed as "print" in my above report.
I've therefore added a "grep -v '\$'$ to the pipeline at the end of auto.smb. There appears to be a bug to this effect on autofs already. I am unsure however if this is the only cause.
