Just checked your bugreport with the latest xastir in Debian. It seems
to work fine here, I can select tigermaps, it is downloaded and
automatically displayed.
Can you please confirm this is working? Thanks.

Package: xastir
Version: 1.9.2-1
Severity: important
When any internet map is selected the following error message is
displayed on the xterm starting xastir:
libcurl or 'wget' not installed. Can't download file libcurl or 'wget'
not installed. Can't download file
Both of these are installed and they both work.
This has been reported on other non-debian forums by different xastir users:
http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/msg04591.html
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=435616
The Redhat report indicates there's be an upstream fix that solves this.
