That misses the changelog for the 0.05-1.2 NMU (which fixed grave #496122). Also, comparing with the NMU I've prepared * there is no watch file * the years of copyright do not match what the author says * the author changed email, debian/copyright need to reflect that * shipping the README is redundant as it duplicates the POD * Standards-Version can be bumped All in all, I see no reason to prefer sponsoring your package over letting the NMU leave DELAYED in six days. Can you tell us why you don't want to join the Debian Perl Group? It would have been so much easier if you join.
