Yet again, a program is not starting up for mysterious reasons (and others are
failing in mysterious ways). This time it's gnome-appearance-properties but
it seems beagle is happy to destroy just about any GTK+ based programs which
it picks at random.
Debugging the problems and you'll find the backtrace containing
beagle_util_daemon_is_running() every time and usually something involving
the GTK+ File Chooser...

This has been going on for a long long time now, please have a look at
if libbeagle can be made more robust. Even if beagle is not in the proper
state I don't think this function should fail. There will always be files
beagle try to index which triggers bugs in the parsers and beagle will
screw up and end up completely lost.....
This should in my opinion not take down large chunks of the desktop.
