So if I was never asked for this info through the user interface, where did the install script populate that info ("garbage") from? I know... "Go look at the code myself" right?! Why would the same install steps work differently on a laptop than a desktop class machine, maybe the hotplug logic for the PCCard ethernet adapter? It makes /etc/network/interfaces look slightly different than a desktop class computer. I am not buying "user error" solution, Andrew. I have set enough of these boxes up off of the then Debian Testing / Sarge CD's. This one was the only laptop and the only one that got the incorrect information in the file in question. Smells fishy to me, thus I logged it as a bug. Michael Lueck Lueck Data Systems http://www.lueckdatasystems.com/ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
