This is an idea to create new special files in /dev as follows:

/dev/pid Reading this file returns the process ID of the current process, in
decimal form, terminated with a newline.
/dev/ppid Reading this file returns the process ID of the
parent process in decimal form, terminated with a newline.
process, in decimal form, terminated with a newline.
/dev/uid Reading this file returns the value of the getuid system
call (the real user ID number) for the current process.
/dev/euid Reading this file returns the value of the geteuid system
call (the effective user ID number) for the current process.
/dev/gid Reading this file returns the value of the getgid system
call (the real group ID number) for the current process.
/dev/eugid Reading this file returns the value of the getegid system
call (the effective group ID number) for the current process.

Mark.
