Maybe you have a wlan0_rename device or similar? IIRC there were some changes in 2.6.24 that cause breakage with the /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules that etch's udev creates¹. Some seven months ago I had this problem myself, also on a laptop with the b43 driver, the solution was to move said file out of the way and reboot. See also this Ubuntu bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/udev/+bug/213903 and its duplicates. Sven ¹ In etch the file is /etc/udev/rules.d/z25_persistent-net.rules, it is automatically renamed on udev upgrades. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
