Package: krb5-admin-server Version: 1.6.dfsg.4~beta1-4 Severity: normal Tags: patch
The man page for krb5_admin indicates that /etc/krb5kdc/kadm5.keytab will be: It creates the database and populates /etc/krb5kdc/kadm5.keytab which contains keys necessary for kadmind to run. However, no such file is created and the krb5_newrealm does actually work. The man page needs to be updated. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-1-kdump-vmlinux-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages krb5-admin-server depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.22 Debian configuration management sy ii krb5-kdc 1.6.dfsg.4~beta1-4 MIT Kerberos key server (KDC) ii libc6 2.7-14 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libcomerr2 1.41.2-1 common error description library ii libkadm55 1.6.dfsg.4~beta1-4 MIT Kerberos administration runtim ii libkeyutils1 1.2-9 Linux Key Management Utilities (li ii libkrb53 1.6.dfsg.4~beta1-4 MIT Kerberos runtime libraries ii libss2 1.41.2-1 command-line interface parsing lib ii lsb-base 3.2-20 Linux Standard Base 3.2 init scrip krb5-admin-server recommends no packages. krb5-admin-server suggests no packages. -- debconf information: krb5-admin-server/kadmind: true * krb5-admin-server/newrealm: --- debian/krb5_newrealm.sgml 2008-10-31 13:26:44.000000000 -0600 +++ debian/krb5_newrealm.new.sgml 2008-10-31 13:29:07.000000000 -0600 @@ -22,9 +22,6 @@ is automatically generated at package installation, but if you skipped the configuration step, you will need to manually generate this file before running krb5_newrealm.) - It creates the database and populates - <filename>/etc/krb5kdc/kadm5.keytab</filename> which contains keys - necessary for kadmind to run. </para> </refsect1> </refentry>
