Package: perl Version: 5.10.0-16 Severity: important Tags: patch Hi,
I found that Perl folks say "Perl 5.10.0 has a memory leak bug, it is not caused with 5.8.8. You can check it with just "$ perl -e 'qr// while 1' ", it was fixed in upstream unstable version (bleadperl) at 18th, Oct." And, yes, it's true, this bug is found in my Debian box and not caused in etch chroot environment (I've checked it with pbuilder --login). I think this is important fix for some web servers work with perl code. For more detail and its patch, see http://rt.perl.org/rt3/Public/Bug/Display.html?id=59516 Please consider to introduce this fix for Debian perl package. --- System information. --- Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-1-686 Debian Release: lenny/sid 500 unstable www.debian-multimedia.org 500 unstable ftp.jp.debian.org 1 experimental cdn.debian.or.jp --- Package information. --- Depends (Version) | Installed ===============================-+-=============== perl-base (= 5.10.0-16) | 5.10.0-16 perl-modules (>= 5.10.0-16) | 5.10.0-16 libc6 (>= 2.7-1) | 2.7-15 libdb4.6 | 4.6.21-11 libgdbm3 | 1.8.3-4 -- Regards, Hideki Yamane henrich @ debian.or.jp/iijmio-mail.jp http://wiki.debian.org/HidekiYamane -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
