Package: ppp
Version: 2.4.3-20050321+2
Followup-For: Bug #310672

Also look at the test for "br" interfaces. It doesn't allow less than 4
characters in the interface name, so you can't use br0-br9 but you can use
br10. That's just dumb.

As for using the nic- prefix, that doesn't work with pppoe-server because
pppoe-server doesn't recognize the nic- prefix on the -I option, which is
where it gets the name it passes down to pppd as well as where it gets the
name to bind to for reading requests.

Maybe pppoe-server *should* recognize the nic- prefix on the -I option, or
maybe it should add the nic- prefix when it invokes pppd. (In fact, now that I
think about it, I'm pretty sure it should do the latter.)
