I don't use aliases but I use cssh to access hosts behind a filtering gateway 
so I used the cx_args (before) and now the ssh_args option like this:
cx_args = "-Ct my_gateway ssh"

So the first hop is reacheable and resolvable but hosts behind are not.

I also think this is reasonable to have an option that specifies the hosts
that don't noeed to be resolved.
