Ah, that explains your difference. The +b1 release was a binNMU: a simple rebuild on i386 to work around a bug that looked to be a simple compiler-related issue in the package. If you're on non-i386 and are seeing a similar problem then that's more of an issue. :-( Which arch are you using, and would you be able to try building the new 1.1.9-1 package that I've just uploaded?
