I couldn't recompile because of too many build-dependencies, and have
this package installed:
ii squid3 3.0.PRE5-5 A full featured Web Proxy cache (HTTP proxy)
In my case, deleting everything under /home/squid/cache solved the
problem, as far as I can see now.
