The change suggested by Niko in http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=502744#20 seems correct to me.
I suggest applying it, test it and upload so that this easy to fix RC bug is closed. The bug should probably be first cloned to another bug because of the bad handling of local changes.. Whether that other bug should be RC or not may be debated. I'd probably give it the severity 'important'. --
