Philipp,

Bizarrely I didn't see a follow up message from you, in my email. I just
checked BTS and see your comments/questions now.

Yes I have Python-glade2 installed

In addition you wanted me to look at bug #490394 to see if my problem shared a
similar cause. But this is the number for this bug, thus I can only presume
that this number is incorrect.

Let me know the correct bug # and I will check it out.

I've waited for about a month.

Feel free to reopen this bug if there is any new information.

Subject: system-config-lvm crashes on startup - fails to read LVM
Date: Sat, 12 Jul 2008 04:27:17 +0100

Package: system-config-lvm
Version: 1.1.4-1
Severity: important

system-config-lvm fails to complete it's startup procedure and crashes after
the "Reloading LVM.
Please Wait" status box appears. The console output upon crash, is as follows:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/share/system-config-lvm/system-config-lvm.py", line 173, in

    self.__VGs[vgname].add_pv(pv)
KeyError: 'JOREL-VG00'

where 'JOREL-VG00' is the name of my volume group.

I suspect this error may have something to do with the fact that my system uses
both the new and
the old PATA / IDE kernel disk architectures. I use the new kernel PATA
architecture [PATA_VIA] for my
VIA IDE chipset and the old kernel IDE architecture [BLK_DEV_HPT366] for my
Highpoint 372 IDE controller
because the new PATA architecture version is still experimental.

I hope the above information can help to trace and solve the above problem,
since I believe this tool
will have a lot of value.

Regards

Os
