I see your point.  It seemed to me that the current menu documentation
was encouraging package maintainers to include the update-menus calls,
which would be superfluous if dh_installmenu is being called.  I just
thought it might be simple to add a note that dh_installmenu can also
handle this in the documentation--I filed this bug report in part
because a package I adopted had both a call to dh_installmenu and a
postrm file that did nothing other than call update-menus.  In this
case, removal of the postrm file did not change the functionality of
the package.

However, I definitely agree that the current wording is not wrong.
Feel free to close the bug report if you so desire.
