Private seems more convenient, you don't rely on other people if stuff goes wrong. I just set up a repository on my svn host: https://svn.grep.be/svn/emile/trunk and http://svn.grep.be/websvn If you send me an (encrypted, signed) password, I'll add you to the configuration. If, on the other hand, you prefer alioth, that's fine with me too -- just let me know, then.
